We could be free
Relieved from the stresses that society has placed
We could be free
Released from the shackles we have placed on each other
We
Could
Be
Free
It may seem like a distant memory
Sittin at peace with ya homies
But we can be free once again
Removed from the standards that have been knowingly placed upon us
Made for us
So we could be who we are just not like that...
And I know it feels impossible
But we can be free
Released of the flaws that we have been taught to hate
And renewed with a sense of relief as we go on about our day
Not completely hating ourselves because of what others had to say
We could be free
For the first time in a long time
We could be free
And I know you don’t believe me but look at me
Right here
Right now
We could be free
Freed from the straight jackets that have been placed on all you beautiful kings and queens
We can be free
And the funny part is...
Nobody knows it
Because you see
Nobody wants to admit their wrong doings
Admit that they have placed everyone into a one size fits all box
Where some can fit comfortably but others are forced to navigate their own way and figure it out Because who wants to admit that they’re struggling as well?
With the guilt
With the pain
That even they can’t fit into the box they have created
They wanted to be a part of something so bad
And now they don’t want it at all
