When Silence is Injustice
In her article, "When Silence is Injustice," Emma Shedden provides imagery of her life experience. Emma explains her experience in class when she wants to speak up when her teacher stereotypes African Americans, but she can't. Emma told herself that she wasn't going to be afraid to speak up and said, "I promised myself that next time, I would do what was right". I found Emma's article extremely moving because I had a few moments where I really wanted to speak up for something, but was afraid to. People should speak up for what right! Thank you Emma for your experience, and why it is important to speak up.
