Remember the days
When drinking
Meant the freshly squeezed
Orange juice we would have
Every morning
And the tall glasses of milk
We would gulp down every night

When the smell
Of smoke
Was enough to get us
To run away

When love meant
Simply holding hands
And kissing would
Only lead to
"cooties"

When mommy
And daddy
Were our heroes

When getting high
Meant sitting
On the swings
And reaching
Towards the sky

When our biggest
Problems in life
Were choosing which
Barbie doll to buy

And yet the funny thing is,
The only thing I remember
Thinking during those years is
Wanting to grow up…
