Waiting Game
Closed off from the world,
I hide away in solitude,
Waiting for him to come back,
I hope and pray for it everyday,
He was my world,
My sun,
My stars,
My everything,
Yet here I am waiting for him to walk through that broken door and sweep me off my feet as if he had never been away,
Twelve years I have spent,
Too afraid to leave just incase he came back,
You see he promised to write to me everyday,
Long handed soppy love letters opening My Dearest Zea...,
I recieved nothing,
Not even a post card,
He is never going to come back to me,
I have wasted my best years on him,
Now it's his turn to wait for me,
He owned me with a kiss and a promise ,
I own him with a letter and a farewell.

I wrote this poem about a character I made up called Zea who features in most of my stories. It is about her broken relationship and broken promises made by her former boyfriend.
