Rain Drops
Tap, tap, tap
It plops against metal roofs
Clouds weary, unable to contain their tears.
Burdens rest with in them, like me.
Mine being a burden of sorrow,
Of loss.
Outside wind blows
It reminds me of her, startling
Whipping past with a force that takes your breath away
Rain puddles dot the ground in abundance,
Smiling I think of days like these,
With her.
Filled to the brim
Our rainboots sloshed
Once all puddles in sight had met our feet.
Soaked to our skin we’d race to the door,
Into warmth of
Home.
Fire place blares
Alive, crackling rings out
Making chill bodies cozy as they sat content.
