I first saw Pity in the eyes of the beholder
Portrayed throughout the media
Of the sorrow and shallowness that others must endure,
In something that I had that these others had so dearly strived,
As well in something that others had but not had not realized
Or merely appreciated.
While others attempt to justify their standing,
I simply look on, questioning what it was that was really oppressing them.
As often their fight, would be nothing save a riot,
And their goal, would be nothing but a saying.

Pity was not a part of these people
Not in their actions
Nor even in their movements.
It might have been expected, but not granted.
For often what they were trying to achieve, had no warrant,
Nor even a destination.

I eventually came to realize,
That what these people were searching for so desperately
Could only be found within themselves.
What had truly been oppressing them
Was in their understanding
And the pity they expected,
As well as the self-pity they so enjoyed.
I came to realize that these people fed off our sympathy-
They lived off of what the media has provided to them.
Whether good or bad, it was publicity.

No longer will people truly stand for what they believe .
They simply join others, often in destruction,
Often creating the despair of which they attempted to dismantle
Even those of which we view highly
Instead of using their power to provide good,
They instead use it, as everyone else, to justify,
To justify their poor performance, their guilty actions, and to no surprise
Their upcoming.
