The silent performance
What I create in a rush will most
likely cause me to become concussed.
Once I’m known I’ll never be forgotten. My decisions
Are like causes. The reasons for all the responses I’ve gotten.
When it’s time for my final performance
on this stage that is black as light I’ll stand and flex.
I can’t believe what comes next.
The curtains as dark as the night sky
They crowd my view and silence my eyes
The crowd is as close as my eyes are to my nose. close
but every word spoken is a mumble.
Nothing I’ve ever experienced
can come close to this.
It’s often I find myself praying for
the curtains and fleeing the bright lights
I’m ok with being wrong but the
light shines on all my mistakes
I ask how much more criticism can I take
I take a dive in this one sided battle
as the dangerous light blinds my eyes
Imagining all of the crowd's cries I open my eyes
And I’m the only one watching this show of mine
