I will never forget
the day you came from Germany
the day in which a special bond was made
between a little Bulgarian boy-
and a plush German yorkshire terrier

I will never forget your soft fur,
    your smelly fur when I sprayed you with cologne
    your wet fur when mom gave you a “bath”
your blissful, blessed, black fur everytime i tried to fall asleep
and you were there next to me like a guard dog ready to defend his best friend

I will never forget those incredible memories
that time you were taken from me for a day because we played together too much
that time we traveled from Bulgaria to Chicago and began anew
    but most of all I will never forget
    the day you came from Germany
    that day a special bond was made
