The once inhabited area,
now covered with sand.
This place holds an important significance in history,
for here trading took place.
And here begins the long story,
of how this place came to fame.

Over miles and miles of barren sun kissed sand,
eager and intrepid, the foreign merchants descended
carrying fragrant spices, bales of shimmering silk,  caskets of fine liquor.

Silk road,
the key to interaction between Asian continents.
Countless merchants battled against nature,
to trade goods and spread them across the globe.
Further discovering the new world,
linking everyone together.

Bactrian Camels traveled miles and miles,
together with tradesmen.
Cold drought high altitude,
Yet creatures impervious, hardy.
