I want to write you a poem

But the words just aren’t flow’n
I want to write you a song
But I fear I’ll sing it wrong
I want to write you a story
But it wouldn’t deserve your glory
I want to write you an essay
But it would take me all day
I want to write you a letter
But I know it could be better
I want to write you a novel
But I fear it would be comical
I want to paint you a skyline
But it would be far from divine
I want to bake you a cake
But you’d end up with a stomach ache
I want to dance to a beat
But I seem to have left feet
I’d even play a song for you
But the chords on my guitar would never do

I guess there’s no way to describe
The way I feel inside.
All I can say, is I’ve never felt this way.

The author's comments:

While my boyfriend and I were in a long distance relationship we wrote poems to each other. This is one that I wrote for him, it's about that indescribable feeling you get when you're in love... After everything I wrote I realized there was no way to describe it.
