Times were a lot simpler when my biggest
Problem was how I tripped and stubbed my toe,
Or how when the ice cream man drove by
Mom said I wasn’t allowed to go.
You always want to grow up and
Become a big kid and move on.
You play house when you are little
And pretend all your childhood is gone.
As you get older the stress of homework
And boys and drama starts to eat you alive,
And you ask yourself why you ever wanted to grow up
Or why you ever wanted to even drive.
Responsibility kicks in and you just want to be
Back to your little self once more.
Trust me the coming of age and growing up
Isn’t everything teenagers swore.

This is how I feel about growing up so I thought I'd turn it into writing
