Humanity At It's Finest
Sun shining while the rain still falls.
Silence engulfed everything.
Curiosity programed to the mind like a computer chip.
You sit trying to comprehend.
Your mind drifts as a glazed stare consumes your face.
You question yourself, then humanity.
You are the same as everyone around you.
People everywhere.
People walking.
People running.
People sitting and staring.
They sit and stare.
How boring one would think that is.
One thinks it would be boring until you have starred just long enough to get a glimpse into another human’s deepest secrets and desires.
People always did say that the eyes where the gateway into the soul.
But what if one day you look and there is nothing there.
People can be not only be cold hearted but soulless.
Empty.
Dead before there even gone.
They become haunted by their own mistakes.
The mistakes they’ve made.
Revenge they’ve took.
Regrets they have.
People everywhere have something on the weight of their shoulders.
What if instead we did not stare to the soul but to the mind?
See what they are thinking instead of what they lack of feeling.
Questions.
Thoughts.
Concerns.
They are all in a race to be spoken first but with no one to listen and no practice to speak.
What if people started to listen.
To sit and not stare, but to listen.
No judgment.
No nasty comments.
No nothing.
Just listening.
Listening to someone so quiet be so loud and brave.
Listening to someone who you called stupid in high school have an idea on how to cure cancer.
Listening to someone who never listened to you but they need it more now than ever before.
Just listen and embrace them.
Embrace their beauty.
Their thoughts.
Their pain and suffering.
Silence is deadly and thoughts can kill!
You snap out of your glazed expression of confusion and thought.
Tears fill your eyes as awareness floods your mind.
You look around in utter discuss.
You know in your heart.
Your mind.
Your soul that was never gone just hidden, that change starts somewhere.
So save everyone by treating a human like a human.
Put a smile on someone's face and complete their entire day.
You never know who you might save by just stopping,
Listening.
Caring.
Embracing and spreading the love
And simply treating everyone as what they deserve,
Like a person.
