The Place
There’s many places I’d like to see,
Like Chicago or NYC.
Or try a place like San José!
I’d love to visit for one day.
Take a trip to Paris, France,
Go to Spain and learn to dance.
Fly away to Greece or Rome,
Or grab a book and stay at home.
But the place where I want to be
Isn’t famous for its touristry.
No one comes to make a fuss,
Just a few—just the few of us.
The place has sticks and leaves and trees,
And there’s no room for formalities.
Bike up a sand hill, climb up a dune,
Record videos until mid-afternoon.
Practice fake fighting or go to the store!
Or maybe we’ll just sit together some more…
Let’s do whatever, I really don’t care,
I’m free to do anything as long as you’re there.

This was inspired by my best friend. We live 2000 miles away. I see him for 3 weeks every year, and it's hard. The strongest friendships are the ones that have endured the most.
