Never Forget
With one leg after another
I was about to Walk up to the baseball field after saying bye to my mother
It was about an hour away from dusk
Thinking of making all stars was a must
I was up to hit with coach pitching
With everyone else switching
The dirt was a color of vermillion
There were so many flowers, maybe even a million
That's when the first pitch was thrown
Seeing the location of it my confidence had grown
Kaboom!Went the ball
Over the center fielder that looked like he was about to fall
The ball kept on going higher and higher like it could go to the moon
It soared over the flowers over the flowers that were going to bloom
I started to run with the musty smell
Because the ball that was just quelled
Had just went into the outfield grass
So I started to run so fast
I was rounding second with no fatigue
Because I possibly had the best team in the league
That’s when I tripped and fell cutting my leg
Because I was running without my head
I went home that night thinking I wasn’t going to make the team
That’s when my mom got the call the next day saying I did and it was my dream.
That day I learned that even if you make a mistake
You shouldn’t let yourself put things at stake
Because even if you mess up on something small
You can still succeed in the long haul.
