What happened?
When life was young and I a brat.
When people seemed nice and kind,
Now they seem so hard to find.
When the fear of death would make me cramp,
Now I wish to lose life, to rest and just scram
What happened to the place I  once begat.
When people seemed firm and hard to separate. 
Now they leave lonely lives and deprecate.
When dreams of desires brimmed your thoughts.
Now they seem so hard to be dreamt and bought.
What happened to the place I fancied a lot.
When tears would emerge on saying final goodbyes.
Now you view all with judgment - cunning and sly.
What happened to the child, once polite and shy.
When hope made it seem that all was right.
Now all seems faded, no light.
   What happened to the sights
When money was the least of all concerns
Now the sight of the lavish makes me burn. 
When the picture of youth made you look bold.
And now the mirror remarks ,“You’re old”.
What happened to the place I sold.  
When time felt like an unending  river,
Now the thought of it’s end, makes me shiver.
When I believed I could do all I wished to till eternity
Now time tells me there is an end inevitably
When I was oblivious to fortunes that life gave everyday.
Now I understand the value of such transient gems, only once they swayed   
What happened to the place that time took away.
