The Knife in Your Grip
As you scream it, it appears on your body, etching its way
Into your skin
And like a sin it stains you
Engraves you
Like a knife it blades you
Onto your body you stay true
To yourself
Becasue the words you utter under your breath
Are forever
Never to accept or deny the time
You say they misheard when it's right there on your body,
Your words
And then, just like that, so is your lie
Because you try
And hide
All the times you scream neglect
And reject the power your tounge holds
Because God only knows
You wish the words that left your lips
Would rather end in a kiss
Than sunken ships
But the proof is eched all over your hips
Learn to think about the knife in your grip.
