We Copped All the Candy
It was a cold and chilly Halloween night
I was downtown Grand Rapids
With my younger brother
Trick-or-Treating
I take Halloween seriously
Like it is a full time job
I have a strategy for my collection of candy
Which is get candy, candy, candy.
My brother was a ninja
I was a bodyguard
Which is not hard to do
Because I am 6 foot 3 and intimidating
We started at 6:00
By 6:30 we had so much candy
We could hardly carry it
It felt like a bag of dirty laundry
We brother was whining
“This is too heavy!”
Are you kidding me? I thought
Then, Eureka! I had an idea.
We went home
Got new bags
and more friends
And we were off again.
I’ll be eating this candy until summer.
