Winter's Gifts
Wrapping paper covers the floor,
A fresh pine wreath marks the door.
The lights outside gleam bright and true,
Carolers smile at their cue.
Our evergreen glows with golden stars,
We string cranberries as we watch the cars.
Snowflakes tickle the darkened skies,
We'll soon build snowmen with button eyes.
List'ning to holiday songs,
Snow days and blankets can never be wrongs!
Drinking hot cocoa and baking cakes.
Oh what joy gingerbread makes!
Winter's gift of happiness, love.
Sent like the snow that falls from above.
