The Concert of a Lifetime
The lights flickered, the suspense could be felt in the air of the Van Andel Arena.
The crowd was a group of bees as we all buzzed with excitement.
My best friend Ty stood next to me crushing my hand in his.
In less than a minute, Twenty One Pilots would walk onto the stage.
BOOM! The sound of a drum filled the air and the screen illuminated the room.
There Tyler was at his piano as well as Josh on the drums.
Screams of elation at seeing the band filled the air.
The concert was beginning.
Everyone was shouting and dancing with delight.
Noise sprang from my throat as my body moved to the music.
It was only a short moment before my head began to spin.
I fell.
I felt my best friend’s arms wrap around me as I collapsed.
He gently lowered my body into a chair..
It was a moment before I was holding a glass of water.
I thought it would be smart to take a quick water break.
Then, I was ready to get back on my feet.
The concert continued.
Everyone jumped around cheerfully like kangaroos along to the music.
Eventually the band said goodnight.
We all began to weep that our best night was coming to an end.
It was time to go home. My night was over.
Even thought the night was over, a lesson stuck with me.
I know what concerts are like.
Now, I will always carry water while taking short breaks.
Because if I don’t, the consequences could be drastic.
