Narcissus' Pool
I see a god looking down at me,
A handsome and sturdy man.
With tousled hair, chiseled jaw, and
Adoring eyes reflecting off of mine.
The love for his face creates an
Obsession-and like an addict he
Craves more. He is a fool. I am
Mocking his meek, mumbling, murmurs
Of love declarations. He slowly slips
Deeper and deeper in my allure, unaware
That I am cunning. I am the snake that will
Attack an enemy at a vulnerable state.
His head fully delved inside, his eyes widen
As he no longer finds his own eyes, but
Rather finds my dark ones. His eyes turn
Full of astonishment and abandonment
Because what he wants he can no longer
Have. I dance in delight. Yet another
Soul is claimed. I am the snake. I am
His downfall. I am his own pool of torture.
