Atlanta's Sword
Swish
This lad had come from such a faraway place
Presenting her with gifts of sage and lace
For the woman he was sure he would win as a bride.
If only his feet had caught up with his pride.
Swish
With one movement, I ended his chances
Like the chances of the many suitors who preceded him.
It seemed that no one was worthy of her.
Atlanta! The beauty that flew faster than lightning
Artemis made into flesh
Swish
The next one was supposed to be the last life lost
For my master and I were exhausted.
He embarked for his starting mark behind the line
His hands harbored three apples
Each as red as the blood that rolled off of me
Swish
As each apple fell, she seemed to go under a spell
To pick it up
She was confident her speed could still surpass
But by the third apple, she was too far back.
