Our Great Snake Expedition
It was me and Alorie
And Alorie and me.
For the longest distance, all we could see
Were hundreds, and hundreds, of trees.
Along the trail we had made, we were walking,
talking, and enjoying our time
We reached our destination and decided to climb.
Like I said before, there was no way we could be bored!
There were trees everywhere,
Whether big or small,
Or short or tall,
It was fantabulous, and we had a ball!
Eventually, we stopped and dropped from the trees.
I plopped to the ground and found my way around
Alorie and I heard a slither, and a slide behind us as we froze.
We slowly turned and saw the green leaves shiver and hide under what was upon them
A snake, a jade green snake slithering over the withering wood
Alorie screamed, shrieked, and scurried to the nearest heap
Once she was on that heap she leaped into the nearest tree!
I was left alone
In the dewy summer air, with a snake that caused me a scare.
I looked to my left, then my right, my hair whipping in my face.
Then I said a quick prayer, i was brave i swear!
I grabbed a stick and held it up high, it was my savior that's why
It was long and dry, and I almost poked that dang snakes eye!
The snake was awful shy and curled up into a ball smaller than a little pie.
I got that stick under the snake and that stick started to shake!
I yelled out “I NEED A BREAK!” And dropped that stick, heavier than a rake!
Alorie and I ran out of the woods with quite a shake,
Thank goodness we survived that awful take..
Soon after we had our break!
