Everyone Has Their Heroes
Everyone has their heroes.
Whether we know it or not,
Whether we care to admit it or not,
Whether we choose to accept it or not.
Everyone has people they rely on,
Whether it is a true crisis,
Whether we just need a shoulder to cry on,
Whether we just want to have a good time.
Everyone has people that seem too good to be true,
Whether they are the friends that are always there,
Whether they are the siblings to keep you safe,
Whether they are the people you never thought you’d have.
Everyone needs other people in their lives.
We cannot survive alone.
We cannot do everything by ourselves.
We cannot always do everything right.
Everyone needs their heroes.
Whether we know it or not,
Whether we care to admit it or not,
Whether we choose to accept it or not.
Our heroes give us hope.
Hope for a better future,
Hope for happiness,
Hope for people.
Our heroes have power.
Power that scares some people,
Power that corrupts some people,
Power that controls some people.
People destroy their heroes.
Because they are afraid.
Because they refuse to believe.
Because they cannot admit.
The world needs the heroes.
Because without them, there is fear.
Without them, there is hatred.
Without them, there is darkness.
In the darkness, our heroes die.
Our hope fades.
Trust shatters.
Happiness goes extinct.
Why should we choose to live in darkness?
Why do we tear our heroes down?
Why do we let fear reign?
Why do we trust lies instead of our hearts?
Still everyone has their heroes.
They can destroy them, or keep them close.
Hate and fear them or love and respect them.
Live in darkness or live in the light.
Because heroes are all around us.
