the unwanted trip
It's about 10 a.m., and i finally feel like getting up.
I groan as i realize i still need to pack,
Pack for a trip i have been dreading.
I can't believe i was talked into this trip.
I never enjoyed going on long car rides to far places with my mom,
I couldn't stand the agitation that grew in her every hour as we sat stiffly in the car.
But this trip, i was bringing David and i hoped i couldn't be happier.
I over thought and over analyzed all the things that could've gone wrong on this trip.
Regrettable arguments, unnecessary tones, and anything making it an unbearable time.
But I wasted time thinking negatively.
The trip to the lake was filled with singing stupid songs, eating variety of snack foods, and occasionally taking a nap on each other. The only bad part on the way there, was David's stinky, sweaty feet propped up on my lap almost the whole way.
We stayed at a motel the first night
It wasn't the usual disgusting, stuffy motel,
It had a pool and even some motel cats wandering around
David befriended most of the cats there, and teared up a little when we had to leave.
The next night, we stayed at a nice, relaxing resort
There were pools in every direction, golf courses filled the resort, and tall buildings full of rooms and shopping centers took up the sky.
Those two nights were remarkable.
I wish i could go back.
I regret the way i thought, i'm glad i was proved wrong.
I'm glad i was talked into my unwanted trip.
