Road Kill
Hands sweaty,
feeling unsteady.
As the sun cooks my back.
My brother and I count down,
as we ready ourselves for the race.
It was a sticky suspense of who was to win.
3...2...1...GO!
We took off
Untill…
My little Barbie scooter wheels hit a rock,
I soar through the sky,
quite in shock.
As my body slams against the driveway,
the warm,
toasty driveway.
Squeezing the brakes,
as hard as he could.
He couldn't stop in time.
With all of his might,
he squeezes the brakes tight.
The tire approaches my arm,
my brother had ran over it.
Broken.
Pouring out tears,
I had great fears.
Thoughts running through my head,
as I lay in a hospital bed.
What a shame,
but my brother wasn't to blame.
Cast wrapped tight,
but I hugged my brother tighter.
“I'm sorry” he said
“I love you” I repeat
