The Unexpected
  Not a squirrel
  Not a cat
  Not a dog
  Or a mouse,
  in the yard
  behind the house.
No it was my brother and I
  Happily playing,
  joy lingered in the air
  but it was not staying.
  The rubber sphere
  Within  the net,
  soon To be retrieved
  with seemingly no threat.
  I strolled to the goal
  Collected my ball,
  meanwhile my brother-
  ready to shoot-
  stood in stall.
  I turned with ball
And darted out of his way,
he looked at the net with determination.
This suggested everything would be okay.
  My younger brother
  Stepped into his shot,
  I tilted my head
  my neck in a knot.
  A forward thrust
  With all of his might,
  sent the object soaring.
  But not in my sight.
  The small little circle
  In 3-D shape,
struck my head and gave me a shake.
  When I came to
I was sprawled on the ground,
  my brother forcefully waking me
  with pound after pound.
I did not know what had happened
I crouched with great despair ,
all I could do was keep my position
and look off into the distance
                            with a confused smoky stare.
