Forever and Always

Started off as 2;
Slowly became 1.
Wedding Day approaching,
Disease worsening.
She pushed it away,
But it came back.
It knocked her down until she couldn't fight back.
Husband tried to save her,
But truly could not.
Until she moved on,
Leaving his stomach in a knot.
Although she was far,
They were never apart.
Because they just couldn't stand the thought,
Of breaking each other's hearts.
