I wish I was rich, and I wish I had money
Wish I could give to the poor and I could feed the hungry
I wish I wasn’t insecure and could overcome my pain
Wish I could be more than myself, rise and make a change

I wish I had courage and I could stand and fight
Wish I could take the wrongs in the world and make them right
I wish life was fair and everyone was treated equal
Wish I could change the mindset of our world of our people

Our brothers are being killed, our sisters being raped
Sometimes I wish that I could just escape
The hurt in our world I wish that I didn’t feel it
The pain so intense no medicine can heal it

We have become lost, our faith is being tested
Our women are selling themselves and our men are being arrested
I wish I could just put an end to the strife
The cries of a baby being cheated out of a life

This wasn’t our purpose, Jesus gave his life and why?
Just so we could waste our time getting drunk and staying high?
We are becoming tainted I’m embarrassed by my generation
We should bring the change we want to see in our nation

Now is the time you have the seed now plant it
The funny thing about making a wish is
Its only you who can grant it

I was just up thinking about all the things I wanted in life.
