Depression takes everything away
The smile, the laugh, the joy
She cannot resist it
But she has no choice
One cut, two cuts, three
Blood runs down her wrist
No more pain
It felt nice for a second
Nobody knows, nobody cares
Nobody was ever there for her
Her parents do not care
Was it because she was different?

Nobody knew how she felt
The way she would always cry
Cry herself to sleep
Had bad grades in school
Received detention everyday
Because she was not paying attention
Nobody is there for her
And cutting is the only answer for her
Scars all over her wrist
Blade in her hand
Nobody sees her
Is she invisible to everyone?

Blade in her wrist
One cut, two cuts, three
Deeper cuts
Less pain
She is done with her life
She cannot take it anymore
Everyone laughs at her
She cannot deal with it anymore
No more pain
She grabs a rope
Ties it around her ceiling fan
For once she is happy
Happy this will all be over
She grabs a chair, takes a deep breath
She puts the rope around her neck
She is ready to end all the pain she has been going through
No more pain
1,2,3 she lets go

She is now in a better place
All of a sudden everyone cares
Everyone now knows who she is
It is too late
She is gone
And all the times you were not there for her
She had to deal with in pain
It’s too late now
No more pain for her
No more scars
No more bloody wrist
No more horrible treatment
And so finally she is- visible

The author's comments:

I was inspired by everyone who has been mistreated and are set aside and their problems cannot be seen by anyone else. The message that I want to send to the people who can relate is that the pain that is being felt is only temporary and if you take the decision to harm yourself, it does not only affect you but the people around you. In addition, I want the reader who can not relate to be open mided and thoughtful to other people because you do not know the complications of their lives.
