Not Me
She was a girl renown for her smiles,
but no one but her knew they were painted.
The paint often chipped through her innermost trials,
but she was fine, as she often clearly indicated.
She was a girl who owned many masks,
and she was always someone but her.
She was too weak to take on life's tasks,
and her personas became too far integrated to deter.
She was a girl who cried alone,
and would never dare to tell a soul.
Her feelings were her's, and her's alone,
and to those who wanted to help, she called "bull".
She had to be strong, so she told herself lies.
She had to be strong, but now slowly she dies.
