Just me and my dog
Just me and my dog
Walking down the cold and graveley street
Pebbles rolling under the pads of her feet
The wind twisted knots in her shiny fur coat
Holding her steadier than an anchor to a boat
Just me and my dog
Autumn leaves flying everywhere-Metaphor
Gripping the leash with tender care
The evening sun hiding it’s face
As we trot along at a steady pace
Just me and my dog
It’s time to head back home
No one is around and we are alone
The moon rising means it’s getting late
Two long shadows taking shape
Just me and my dog
We reach the house as the sky goes dark
She wags her tail as happy as a lark
As I head inside and reach for the treat
The bond we share just can’t be beat
Just me and my dog
