“Hello,” whispers a voice.
A soaring shadow shouting “come with me.”
“Forever I will,” echos an adventure.
A journey warns of a corrupt road to come.
“It’s how we cope.” my heart says to me.

“Ready?” moans the nightmares.
A fearful conscience declares, “never!”
“But no one ever is.” wisdom states.
One step after another, my feet wander further.
“Ready?” questions death of my trembling hands

“Enough!” strength snarls.
Pure black surrounds my ears with a dark, “hello.”
“Why me?” consumes this poisoned mind.
Never the same, but forever able to power through.
“Goodbye,” I say to my demons.
