"Dad"
Her smile fades, her eyes get darker, her life is turned around without her dad.
She missed him at first, but now she doesn’t.
She’s tired of the lies.
She remembered him leaving.
“I still love you” was a lie.
She’s tired, unhappy, and paranoid.
Every day she’s looking, wondering, and thinking.
“Why did he have to leave?” “Maybe he’ll come back.”
Every day she wondered if he’ll come back
But sadly he didn’t
He hurt her.
Knowing that he wouldn’t come back...dreadful.
Growing up she didn’t have anyone to look up to.
Her father broke her heart before any boy could.
She goes around looking for the right one.
Every time she’s broken boy after boy.
Wondering if they’re all the same.
“I’m scared.”
Growing up she didn’t care that her father wasn’t there,
She thought I don’t need someone who’s just gonna leave me
I will continue on with my life with or without him.
He’s like a snake slithering away from his problems.
Even though he’s gone, I miss him.
The hate I have for him is like my hate for chocolate shakes.
I know, I get it,
I shouldn’t hate him.
I wish he told me why he left,
I don’t know if I’ll ever forgive him...
