In life to get anywhere,
you must slaughter the competition.
For those who lack compassion,
the task is easy.

For me the
story differs.
You ruined me,
with your purity.

I cared not for the thorns
of life.
How cruel others could be.
So I cradled you close,

too close.
As to find one truth.
That truth itself
is paid for in lies.

In the depth of these enormities,
my thoughts were muddled.
I was lost and confused,
but once again you shine.

Your purity guided me.
Again and again,
I shielded you,
by cradling you close.

Too close.
Only to lead me,
to finding out I cared not
for the thorns.

That one rose my rose,
held in her heart.
For these enormities,
held in life.

Your purity turned,
black and cold.
You purified me.
Only to crucify me.

You ruined me,
made me weak.
Made me change,
made me love.

You got me closer.
But at the end of it all.
Your vines,
polished with poison.

I was to blind to see.
That as I held you close.
Your thorns
stabbed into my heart
