Is This Goodbye?
Catastrophically the frazzled teen coerced her hair into an elastic band. With ever stand comes a memory. The one caressing the nape of her neck is the night that you kissed her under the silence of the street lights. A memory of how your lips tasted like chai and sugar free mint. Ice cold cupid's bow and frozen hands met at the center council and started a war of mind over body. Her mind told her no, but her lips said otherwise. With the first breath--out burst a giggle
“What did we just get ourselves into?”
If only you knew then, just what weight your words would bear. And with that kiss, came those that followed. All the good and all the bad. Hello’s and Goodbye’s came and went.
But it wasn’t what you meant when you said you loved me.
As the night went on her hair slowly fell.
Sunken in silence the girl tugged at her web of memories,
Hoping one day to forget you.
The hair stuck to her falling tears is the first
I love you,
And the last Goodbye.
