"Don't let schooling interfere with your education" - Mark Twain

I sit unnoticed, unseen,
People walk by like cars on a highway,
Little do they know I am quite keen,
No one can see so I have fallen pray.

I now watch impatiently,
Anger bubbles,
Tears streaming down my face silently,
Fear brings hate, and hate brings trouble.

I see myself,
Quiet and sad,
Sitting passively on a shelf,
I never stay put, I am a nomad.

The world sees me as below zero,
I cannot change,
Now there is no hero,
To save me from the blame.

I sit here Gnawing,
Gnawing away at my fear,
In the distance I hear cawing,
And there is a whisper that tells me that there is no one here.

I stand on the edge now,
Wind rustles my hair,
Throwing myself over the brow,
Words fell from my lips ‘Now they will care’.

The genre of this poem is a blues poem. I wrote this poem to express the emotions of loneliness. Connection is a vital component of love and human relationships. Without it we are lost, we are outcasts.
