Crispy autumn leaves falling down
Red, yellow, orange, and brown.
They blow off of the branches and dance in the breeze.
The crunchy sound of them makes me feel at ease.

But then something happens that fills me with fright
Acid rain begins to fall; Oh, no. What an awful sight!
It rips through the leaves and breaks off the tree branches
People look out the windows with very concerned glances.

Birds fly away and squirrels flee
To go and look for safe places to be.
Children run inside, screaming with fear
Needing to seek shelter until the coast is clear.

The trees start to shake while the leaves blow all around;
They shake until they thrash through car windows with an unpleasant sound.
After about a half an hour, the rain starts to die down.
A little boy stands in shock with a melancholy frown.
