Cancer
When it calls
I always answer
No time to wait
For this is cancer
Choking me
I cannot breathe
The cancer will never leave me
The tears of love are shed
On my hospital bed
The lies they fill my ear
it will get better is all I hear
I know I will die
Why oh why, must they lie
Can the truth not be said
Even on my death bed?
All optimism has faded away
I had no hope anyway
It is terminal and stage four
Yet I live just one more
Those who know how it feels
when you numb the pain with endless pills
I have fought
I have tried
To this day I have not died
Weeks later my hope again is found
As I hear the doctors calling
I realixe I am no longer falling
The tumors are no longer there
I am now regrowing my hair
The happiness is coming back
The sadness is what I now lack
Hope should never be taken away
It should be kept for another day

I was inspired to write this about my friend who had cancer, she told me how it felt, and what the doctors and everyone say to you, she was about to give up when she went into remission and recovered and I wanted to tell her story.
