I was a child.
I used to be a happy little thing.
I had my innocence and I was free.
So much happiness to life I did bring.
All that mattered was my friends and me.

I yearn for long days playing Queen and King.
I miss the days when I wasn’t pressured for a back seat fling.
I long for the days when I would chase the honey bee.
I was a child.

Now it seems as if I’m a teenage puppet on a string.
I lost my freedom long ago; I have lost my freedom wing.
All I really want is to flee.
Back to being Little Me, I hold so dear the memories of She.
I miss the happiness my childhood would bring.
I was a child.

This poem is about my experience growing up and that I'm afraid of letting go of my childhood.
