Music... And You

I can't listen to music without thinking of you.
My mind scores each tune with you intertwined,
And without you my heart sings only the blues.

What´ll happen to us once you begin to eschew
The disjointed cadences to which I’m inclined?
I can’t listen to music without thinking of you.

What will happen once harmonic chaos ensues,
When each note is misplaced, the tune unrefined?
I can’t help it—without you, I sing only the blues.

In despair I anticipate you’ll regard me askew
And decide that I am not worth being confined.
I can’t listen to music without thinking of you.

No tune will sound right once you bid me adieu.
Our souls are in harmony, pacifying my mind.
And without you my heart sings only the blues.

I dread the day you decide that we’re through,
The day that my happiness becomes undermined.
Because without you I’ll sing nothing but blues,
And I won’t listen to music without thinking of you.
