Homo Sapiens
Earth around us.
“More”; much
Not mastered.
Stones trembling,
flames Flickering,
water Purifying,
Wind Rushing.
Earth with
Conflicts unto
Knowledge-wielding;
Man with
Open eyes
Falls, sleeping…
———————————Awakened—————–——————
Sleeping falls,
Eyes open.
With man
Wielding Knowledge
Unto conflicts
With Earth:
Rushing wind,
Purifying waves,
Flickering flames,
Trembling stones
Mastered; not
Much more.
Us around earth.

This is a piece I wrote celebrating human "awakening", if you will. My first submission, though hopefully won't be my last. I tend to write pieces much like this one, which focus on venerating the human experience, with all of its eccentricities and joys, as well as the occasional sorrows. This piece, specifically, I saw fit to be my first submission, because it describes our first - the dawn of curiosity and human intelligence.
