I will love you always
Like an owner loves their dog
And even if my dreams,
Are never published in a book,
Or ever reach the stars,
I hope you will never go.

Our friendship started on the go
And started with the declaration of “always”,
I knew right there in the stars,
My loyalty was unwavering, like a dog’s,
And the pages that are written for this book
Capture my dreams.

As the months pass on, I look to you as a far off dream,
One that I had hoped would never go.
For my dreams of writing that one book,
Faded after always.
You yelled and screamed like a vicious dog,
That wrote our ending in the stars.

The tears upon my face shone like stars
As you crushed my dreams,
I cowered like a helpless dog
Afraid to let you go.
But I know my happiness comes first, always.
Now this has become the ending of my book,

But in order to change the ending of my book,
I align the stars,
To work in my favor, so always,
Never has to end. Then I can go,
And in my own way, work like a tired dog.

A new chapter will begin for this dog,
And still the book
Grows longer. Don’t stop, go,
Chase wild aspirations, not just to the stars,
But beyond. So finally my dream,
Will become always.

I will always remember the lines of our book,
And cherish it like a dog with a toy. Dreams, are powerful,
They tell you to go and reach the stars, even in a dark sky.
