The Apparition
May 4, 2016
She comes and goes like a ghost
No interaction we share as guest and host
One minute, I'm living in total bliss
Another, my surroundings seem totally amiss
Then suddenly I'm charging headlong into a frenzy of insanity
That causes nothing for me but calamity
And rids and strips me of my humanity
The Apparition
Its been said by everyone that I'd turned crazy
Everyone believed it Mark, Ivy and even Daisy
Before me I know not what I face
Life and death is now a race
Draining showers of different thoughts racing through my brain
My heart feels like it's pouring rain
Look at me my life is going down the drain
The Apparition
Everything is popping in my head
I don't know if I'm alive or dead
Deceased soul appearing in body
Makes you wonder if you are somebody
I'll just cease to fight
This spirit with all my might
And live my life to the fullest despite

The poem is written in the point of view of someone who sees ghost and we see how the person fights to understand what's happening. In the first stanza we get kind of a little background information on the person's experience. Whereas in the second stanza we go deeper into the emotions of the person and finally in the third stanza the person finally decides to live life no matter what's happening to him. The ghost in this poem is figurative and actually stands for the flaws that so many people struggle to deal with. We need to learn to live with our flaws and learn to control it rather than fight it. This is the message I'm hoping to pass on to my audience.
