I Already Knew
Say tomorrow doesn’t come.
Say your heart turned to ice.
Say the sweet girl disappeared.
Say the life in you disintegrated.
Say your brown eyes turned black.
Say your fake smile is now a frown.
Say you had a plastered on mask.
Say you’re not happy.
Say you couldn’t tell anything was wrong:
Besides the nights I called crying,
and besides the endless therapy.
Say you never met the real me.
Say I haven’t been trying.
Say I spent my last moments in
my room, the place where
I can be myself.
Say I don't matter.
I’ll say,
I already knew.
