Smoke
You hold the smoke in your fingertips
You say you feel alone
You're not alone, you have the smoke
You have the smoke and me
I loved you once in my life
You were too blind to see
But you just loved the smoke
You loved the smoke, not me
The smoke seems to like you too
But only if you knew
You thought you were holding the smoke
But the smoke was holding you
The smoke has you in its grasp
You didn't know until you gasped
You gasped for air, you didn't dare
To hold the smoke again
I hold the smoke between my fingers
And with every breath your memory lingers
I watched you smoke and fade away
But now I know you weren't okay
Because in the mirror I see you
I love the smoke as I loved you
Now that you're gone I see the truth
I know I've smoked away my youth
I thought I was addicted to the smoke
But now I know that was all a hoax
And since I know now what is true
It wasn't the smoke
I was addicted to you
