I have discovered in my 17 years
Why Happiness does not flood the world:
Complexity
Depression, Anxiety, Hatred, Intelligence
The state of the world is too intricate
For Joy to prevail

I have always enjoyed the simplistic things of life
The warmth of summer
The thrill of physical exertion
The beauty of the sky, forests, and rivers
The feeling of love

All these things are overlooked
Which is fine with me
The quiet, humble joy
Provides a respite from depressing complexities
For you need no intellect to be happy
You only need simplicity for Joy to thrive.

This poem is an epitaph written from my point of view. It includes my theory on the conditions in which happiness can thrive in my life as well as in other people's lives.
