In the room I stay

All the night and day.

I cannot leave,

I need a reprieve.

I've been kept in the basement

By the master of placement.

I feel the air slip out.

The panic takes its route.

I rock back and forth,

My compass no longer points North.

The silence is deafening,

The darkness is threatening.

I can't see the sun,

There's nowhere to run.

I'm trapped inside,

I can't take this in stride.

I've grown too skinny,

Through the bars I could shimmy.

I know I'm done,

Now I have to RUN.
