Understanding
Nothing quite makes sense--
the world, the people that surround us, the lies--
everything leaves us questioning ourselves.
Not being able to comprehend the true meaning of love--
it hurts.
Why do people we love so dearly-- leave us out in the cold?
One day-- all answers will be crystal clear, eventually--
One day-- we will be happy.
We all may not understand why people will come and go,
but when we do-- that will be the day we accomplish a goal,
Nothing quite makes sense--
the sound of laughter, the sight of smiles, the hidden pain--
everything leaves us questioning ourselves.
We all have the most darkest secrets within that cause sorrow,
but yet we manage to keep a broken smile?
That smile--
holds a cry out for help,
it holds a heart breaking story--
all smiles do.
We’ll never admit the pain we hold--
why?
Nothing quite makes sense--
We live in a world where we can’t even understand our actions,
why do we hurt people?
why do people hurt us?
Nothing quite makes sense--
absolutely-- nothing.
