Yours Truly
I took you for my knight in shining armor,
But I only found out you were quite the charmer.
You played with my heart heart like a childhood toy,
But tossed it to the side when it gave you no joy.
I pondered the thought of what I did wrong,
To my small, insecure rants and suggestions of songs.
My Prince Charming, you were for quite a while,
The one who made my frown a smile.
I was on a journey to reach cloud nine,
and I thought that we were doing fine.
You led me down a foreign road,
And my unbearable burden became a tolerable load.
I tried new things during my time with you,
And for once I felt different and brand new.
I thought I was actually the center of your world;
Your baby, your princess, your beautiful girl.
You made me soar above the clouds,
And for a while I wouldn't come down.
The way you treated me was in the lowest of lows,
In different forms and in different shows.
You led me on and broke my heart.
It took forever to restart.
Now, I'm better than I used to be.
Signed forever, Yours Truly.
