"Anyone can write a story but only the truly great can drag you into their imagination." - Me

Once upon a summer day,

I had a thought and was led astray.

Walking down the paved path,

I skipped along with a laugh.

Then all at once a sight I saw

But only once I took my fall.

For the ground below me gave

And to Him I became a slave.

The ground and dirt my flesh scraped

And from my throat a scream escaped

Through my gritted eeth with ease

While giggling branches sit and tease.

I fell for hours, both day and night,

With nothing nowhere, no ground in sight.

Then all at once the ground did rise

And, against the light, I blinked my eyes.

I close my eyes and sleep did take

But to a white rabbit I soon did wake.

He looked at his watch and clucked his tongue

And, away from me, he fast sprung

I folled the rabbit down the lane

"Til I met a man who never was sane.

He looked me up and down without malice,

"Well hello there, dear girl," he said. "You must be Alice."

The author's comments:

I love fairy tales but Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorites. Alice is like me in a lot of ways. She's pretty smart but is easily distracted and confused by the unknown. I didn't originally plan to rwrite about her and didn't realize I had until I wrote of the rabbit...
